New IDRM Transition Fellowship Programme: Apply by 2nd February!

We are excited to announce our new IDRM Transition Fellowship programme to support and develop an outstanding researcher at an intermediate/career development stage.
The fellowship is open to clinicians and basic scientists and can be carried out in either one of IDRM’s research themes, cardiovascular science, neuroscience and immunology. We will award one Fellowship and appoint the Fellow either on Grade E64 (£34,563 - £55,395 per annum) for Clinicians or Grade 7 (£33,309 - £44,706 per annum) for Non-Clinicians. The selection process is based solely on how applicants match the essential criteria as outlined in the job description.
The IDRM will make available funds for up to two years to support a stipend and research costs, up-to a total of £200K, to relocate researchers into Oxford and the Institute and to enable them to capitalise on generating a competitive fellowship proposal with extensive pilot data and access to local collaborators and research platforms. Applications for external fellowship funding will need to be submitted at 18 months into the post. Researchers who succeed in securing an external fellowship will be invited to establish their independent group at the Institute, benefiting from comprehensive mentorship, career development training and opportunities to recruit Oxford undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Successful applicants will have a minimum of 3 years post-doctoral experience, distinctive research achievements and a cutting-edge research plan for the next 5 years. The post holders will need to be able to work independently as well as be open to active collaboration with multi-disciplinary partners.
There will be a two-stage recruitment process. The first stage consists of a ‘Chalk + Talk’ with the opportunity for longlisted candidates to present their research vision for the next 5 years, including research aims and how their research fits within the remit of the IDRM. At the second stage shortlisted candidates will be invited to present an open seminar to the Institute with the opportunity to discuss their research with IDRM’s group leaders.
