We offer and contribute to a number of postgraduate programmes that provide excellent training in developmental biology and regenerative medicine.

  • British Heart Foundation 4-Year DPhil Programme
    This programme is currently under renewal. Informal enquiries may be addressed to Prof Nicola Smart, who can advise on future opportunities.

  • Wellcome Trust 'Chemistry in Cells' Programme
    This programme is not currently accepting applications, but similar opportunities may be available through affiliated research groups and departments.

Funded DPhil Opportunities in Therapeutic Genomics

The MRC Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE) in Therapeutic Genomics is offering fully funded DPhil studentships for 2026 entry. These projects combine cutting-edge genomics, molecular biology, and therapeutic development to accelerate personalised treatments for rare and complex diseases.

Students will join a dynamic research community with access to world-class facilities, cross-sector collaborations, and opportunities for engagement in clinical translation and research culture initiatives. Find out more.

The IDRM runs a yearly Transition Fellowship programme to support and develop an outstanding researcher at an intermediate/career development stage.
