Current Area of Research

Environmental cues and signalling in cardiac morphogenesis and developmental plasticity in zebrafish.

Social

I am a Research Assistant in Toby Andrews’ lab at the Institute of Developmental & Regenerative Medicine, where I study how environmental cues influence cardiac development. My current work focuses on roles for oxygen sensing in heart growth and form, using molecular, genetic and imaging approaches in zebrafish.

Before joining Oxford, I completed an MRes in Biosciences: Developmental and Stem Cell Genetics at University College London, where I investigated morphogenesis of the chick presomitic mesoderm and developed enhancer-driven tools to study region-specific cell behaviours during body axis elongation. I previously completed a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry at the University of Portsmouth.

My broader research interests lie in developmental biology, particularly in understanding how environmental cues, genetic programmes and tissue mechanics interact to shape developing organs.
