I manage the Oxford-Harrington Rare Disease Centre, based in IDRM and directed by Matthew Wood. The Centre is a £5m partnership with the Harrington Discovery Institute in the US and brings together the hundreds of rare disease researchers in Oxford, and many groups involved in the development of advanced therapeutics, which are often driven by rare disease exemplars. The Rare Disease Centre's research expertise covers all three themes of the Institute, with many projects focusing on neurological diseases, as well as cardiac and immunological disorders.
