Yiling Tsang completed her PhD in the Cells in Motion (CiM) Max Planck Graduate School at the Institute of Physiological Chemistry and Pathobiochemistry, University of Münster, working in the Sorokin group. Her doctoral research examined how induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) differentiate into brain endothelial cells, work she applied to build a 3D hydrogel-based microfluidic model of the blood-brain barrier.

In 2026, she joined the Stone group, where her research now centers on endothelial cell differentiation using human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs).
