I hold a BSc in Biochemistry and an MSc in Health Sciences from the University of Minho, Portugal. During my master's thesis and subsequent research at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute and the Center for Translational Health and Medical Biotechnology Research, I studied neurodegeneration and its underlying mechanisms using various cellular and animal models of neurodegenerative diseases.
My interest in cardiovascular biology led me to join the Stathopoulou Group as a research assistant, focusing on the (epi)genetic basis of congenital heart disease. Also, I am passionate about science communication, particularly scientific illustration.
