My work focuses on the role of Calhm2 in the metabolism of the heart. By investigating the role of Calhm2 in the metabolic switching of mitochondria in the post natal heart I aim to uncover how it is involved in cardiomyocyte differentiation and how defects in this process can lead to congenital heart defects.
