My research focuses on the genetic and regulatory mechanisms underlying autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders. In the Sanders Group, I use single-cell multi-omic approaches to characterise cell types and gene-regulatory programmes in the human hypothalamus as part of the BrainNet project. I am also investigating RNA-binding protein networks and their roles in the regulation of gene expression and splicing during human brain development.
Prior to joining the Sanders Group at the IDRM and Department of Paediatrics, I completed my PhD in genomics at Korea University. My doctoral research examined the genetic architecture of autism, with a particular focus on sex differences, familial patterns, and the phenotypic associations.
My broader research interests lie in understanding sex differences in neurodevelopmental disorders and the contribution of RNA splicing and post-transcriptional regulation to brain development and disease.
