I am a DPhil student under the supervision of Prof Mommersteeg working on zebrafish heart regeneration. My project focuses on the role of oxidative metabolism on cardiomyocyte re-differentiation in the late stages of regeneration. My DPhil is funded by the Medical Research Council, St John’s College and the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics.

In 2023 I completed my integrated MSci degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. During my studies, I did my year-long placement and worked as a research assistant for one more year at the Mommersteeg lab. I performed my final year Honours research project at the Lionikas lab working on skeletal muscle differentiation. Additionally, I have worked on the role of the complement and coagulation systems in arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy under the supervision of Prof Mavroidis at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens, Greece.
