I completed my undergraduate Master's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry at Oxford University in 2009. Following a year working in clinical studies, I became interested in Developmental Biology whilst studying for a 4-year PhD in Cardiovascular Biomedicine at University College London. Under the supervision of Peter Scambler, my thesis investigated the role of the chromatin remodeller CHD7 during heart development. I have now returned to Oxford University as a post-doctoral researcher in Sarah De Val’s group, based in the new Institute of Developmental & Regenerative Medicine (IDRM). My research focuses on the regulatory pathways that govern coronary vessel formation, and investigating their involvement in re-vascularisation of the damaged heart.
