Robin Choudhury
Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine
Robin Choudhury is a professor of cardiovascular medicine at the University of Oxford. He leads a translational research laboratory based in the Radcliffe Department of Medicine/ Division of Cardiovascular Medicine.
He is an interventional cardiologist, who has a long-standing research interest in processes of inflammation in relation to cardiovascular diseases. His laboratory focuses on the opportunities to modulate immune function in the contexts of (1) myocardial infarction / regeneration and (2) atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, with an emphasis on the complications of type two diabetes. Current areas of work include (i) characterisation of immune cell function and (ii) opportunities to modulate immune cell function through epigenetic modification and engineering extracellular vesicles. He is Co-PI of the NovoNordisk Foundation MeRIAD programme (Metabolite related inflammation in diabetes-spectrum disease) and is UK Chief Investigator for the ZEUS trial (Effects of ziltivekimab versus placebo on cardiovascular outcomes).
