IDRM Institute Manager
As IDRM’s Institute Manager I am responsible for the operational management of the IDRM making sure that all administrative processes run most efficiently and effectively. I work closely with IDRM’s Director Professor Paul Riley to further develop IDRM’s strategic priorities and long-term goals. Day to day I am responsible for IDRM’s finances (including budgeting, forecasting and financial planning), HR processes and grant management. I also oversee our communications efforts. I work closely with the Building Services Team, and coordinate and facilitate with IDRM’s Home Departments and the Medical Sciences Division.
I hold a Master’s degree in Business and Economics and successfully completed a PhD in Business Ethics. I have over eight years of experience working in both private and public sector organisations. After my PhD, I worked for six years in publishing, developing print and online products for political decision-makers in local councils. Relocating to the UK, I have worked for the London International Development Centre, managing the Centre’s day-to-day operations. In this role I also supported setting up an 18-partner research project aimed at alleviating child stunting in Indonesia, India and Senegal. Before joining IDRM I worked for What Works for Children’s Social Care as a Senior Programmes Manager and led on the development and delivery of programmes in Children’s Social Care.
