General Information

The Institute of Development & Regenerative Medicine (IDRM) IMS Tetsuya Nakamura Building building

The IMS-Tetsuya Nakamura Building was supported by a very generous donation from Dr Tetsuya Nakamura, Chief Director of Itabashi Medical System Group (IMS-Group), and substantial fund-raising from the British Heart Foundation, and is the home for the Institute of Developmental & Regenerative Medicine.

The new building sited at the Old Road Medical Campus in Headington, brings together existing research groups studying development and regeneration from across Oxford and enables further recruitment of world-leading scientists. The building provides a multidisciplinary, vibrant and nurturing scientific environment.

Built by McLaughlin & Harvey, designed by SRA architects and project-managed by RIDGE the three storey 6000 sqm building is located directly next to the BioEscalator on the ORC and with outreach to existing campus expertise in Big Data and Target Discovery.

The building contains state-of-the-art research facilities, notably in advanced bioimaging, along with a café, seminar room and exhibition space in the auditorium for events.
